WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise

Multiprens USA has been women owned and operating the last 15 years since CEO Debra Shaumeyer was elected as President in 2008.  Recently, we just took our business to the next level by becoming a WBENC-Certified WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise).

Diversity is something we value here at Multiprens, especially when it comes to women-owned businesses.  However, there’s a distinction from being a women-owned business on paper and being legally recognized as one on a state and federal level.

There is a complicated process to go with pursuing this.  About a year ago, Debra Shaumeyer, President, with knowledge of the organization and what it entailed, started reviewing links of websites, speaking to other members of the organization, and, you guessed it, processing a ton of paperwork.

Why did we get it?  In the trucking industry, we work with clients of all sizes and walks of life.   Our clients were asking us, if you are a business owned by women, and the majority of your team are women, why not become certified? Debra couldn’t agree more.

For Multiprens, it means the larger clients we work with suddenly are incentivized to invest in more beyond just our expert ability to supply a quality product at a competitive price. It also opens the door for new clients seeking out supplier diversity businesses through the WBE database.  Beyond this, it provides another way to showcase what makes Multiprens USA different as a company.
